How to Set Up Outlook Express to Send and Receive Email
- Open Outlook Express.

- From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.
Note: If you have never configured, or used, your Outlook Express email program, at this point the Internet Connection Wizard will open automatically. In such a situation, go directly to step 5.

- Click the Add button and choose Mail.

- In the Display name field, type your full name.
- Click the Next button.

- In the E-mail address field, type your full email address (e.g.,

).
- Click the Next button.

- Click the down arrow on the My incoming mail is a __ server drop-down list and choose POP3.
- In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field, type mail.Your-Domain-Name.com.
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type mail.Your-Domain-Name.com.
Note: If you are unable to send email using the outgoing email server as above, you will need to contact your ISP (Internet service provider) and inquire if they block remote port 25 connections. If so you will be required by them to use their server settings. Usually this is the same userid and password used to connect to the internet and the default mail box for your account
- Click the Next button.

- In the Account name field, type your full email address (e.g.,
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
)
- In the Password field, type your email password.
Note: Remember, your password is case sensitive. (Make sure your CAPS LOCK button is off!)
- Check the box next to Remember password if you wish to save your password.
- Click the Next button.

- Click the Finish button.

- Click the Properties button.

- Click on the Servers tab.
- Check the box next to My server requires authentication.
- Click the Settings button.

- Select Log on using in the first options box.
- In the Account name field, type your email address use
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
- In the Password field, type your password.
Note: Remember, your password is case sensitive. (Make sure your CAPS LOCK button is off!) Also if your SMTP settings above are set by your ISP, please consult with their support for proper settings for this section.
- Check the box next to Remember password if you wish to save your password.
- Click the OK button.

- Click the OK button.

- Click the Close button.

- Close Outlook Express.
Congratulations! You have successfully set up Outlook Express 5.0-6.0 to send and receive email.
